Rental car pick up at Orlando International Airport (MCO)
For your convenience, ground operations are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so there are no restrictions on when you can pick up and return a rental car at Orlando International Airport.
Interestingly enough, Orlando International Airport’s code of MCO comes from the airports original name of McCoy Air Force Base. Orlando International Airport serviced over thirty-six million passengers in 2007 making it the tenth busiest airport in the United States in terms of passenger traffic. MCO features one very large main terminal building which is divided into two terminals, A and B. Baggage claim can be found on the first level at the north end of terminal A and the south end of terminal B. The main terminal building is connected to four airside terminals which handle the arrivals and departures via an elevated tram system.
You’ll find all of the major rental car companies represented at Orlando International Airport.
Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, and National have their rental counters conveniently located in-terminal on the ground floor near baggage claim in both terminals A and B. This is where you go to check in and start your rental agreement. The pick up lots are within walking distance of the rental counters.
Enterprise and Thrifty have their cars located off-airport and each requires a short shuttle bus ride to reach their pick up lots. They have stations at each of the four concourse gates, just outside of baggage claim. You go there and hail down the first courtesy shuttle bus that comes by. They are scheduled to run every five to six minutes. Airport security is available to assist with directions if needed.
Rental cars are returned to the same lot they were picked up from. As you enter the airport property, just follow the signs for rental cars. Remember, this is a busy airport so have the counter agent give you detailed return directions at time of pick up to avoid any issues.
